Sony’s latest console coming.

The last few years Sony has been developing its latest multi-console: Playstation Vita (PS Vita or PSV). The console has been released in Japan in the end of last year, but it will come out this month in Europe and the United States.

The PS Vita is an innovative multi-console in the form of a handheld, this means that it almost fits in your pocket, and it will work on a rechargeable internal battery. The multi-console allows you to surf on the internet, play exclusively designed videogames, watch movies, listen to music and make photographs. The multi-console will also have built-in speakers and a built-in microphone, not only that but it will also work via a touchscreen.

Now a touch screen is not that innovative anymore, but Sony developed a touch pad on the backside of the PS Vita, which allows you to control video games next to the classic D-pad and joystick controller. Next to this Sony also made it possible to turn the console within your hands and it will detect your movement. This will allow you to alter the camera within the videogames by simply moving the console.

The PS Vita will be released on the 22^nd of February and will cost around €250.

Eerste Androidcamera van Polaroid

LEEUWARDEN – Polaroid heeft de eerste camera met het Android-besturingssysteem gepresenteerd op de Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. De camera lijkt in eerste instantie veel weg te hebben van een smartphone. Het verschil is dat de focus ligt op de camera en niet op het bellen en internet, wat je wel op een smartphone gewend bent. De camera is geinstalleerd met een 16 megapixel beeldsensor en 3x optische zoom. Het apparaat kan verbinding maken met WIFI en heeft ook de mogelijkheid tot 3G.

De Polaroid SC1630 HD Smart Camera, zoals de camera voluit heet, heeft een 3.2-inch scherm met 800×480 pixels. Met het apparaat kunnen naast foto’s ook video’s gemaakt worden. Een anti-shake-functie is ingebouwd voor de mensen met een iets minder vaste hand, zodat foto’s toch nog scherp geproduceerd worden.

Tot zover geen revolutionaire technieken. Dat zit hem vooral in het Androidsysteem en de mogelijkheid tot WIFI. Via de androidmarket zijn softwareprogramma’s als Pixlr-o-matic en Magic Hour, waarmee je je eigen gemaakte foto’s direct kunt bewerken op je camera. Via de WIFI is het mogelijk direct gemaakte foto’s te sturen naar je vaste computer en te delen op sociale media als Facebook, Hyves en Twitter.

De camera is nog niet geheel geschikt voor gebruik. De accu van de camera is nog wat aan de magere kant. Het is onbekend of de camera ook in Nederland zal uitkomen. In april is hij wel in de Verenigde Staten te verkrijgen voor een bedrag van ongeveer 299 euro.

Nieuwe Playstation, Xbox en Wii dit jaar

Het zijn nog maar verwachtingen, maar naar alle waarschijnlijkheid gaan Sony (Playstation) en Microsoft (Xbox) hun nieuwe game consoles op het E3 game event dit jaar bekend maken. Over beide nieuwe gameplatformen is nog weinig bekend, wel gaan er veel geruchten rond.

In tegenstelling tot de Xbox en Playstation heeft Nintendo wel wat over de nieuwe Wii, genaamd Wii U, bekend gemaakt. Vernieuwend aan de Wii U is de extra controller naast de bekende Wii remote. Deze nieuwe controller heeft verschillende knoppen voor de besturing en een eigen touchscreen. De controller is de gebruiken in combinatie met de Wii U maar ook los als portable game device.

Het game event E3 wordt dit jaar voor de zeventiende keer georganiseerd, maar nog nooit eerder maakten de drie grote gameplatformen hier tegelijk hun nieuwe consoles bekend.
