RTL tweet-week and tweet-leak
Saturday the 25th of February till Friday the 2nd of March RTL Netherlands will give their fans a unique ‘look’ behind the scenes. Inviting them all over at the headquarter would probably cause the building to collapse, so RTL chose to invite them all on Twitter for a week.
Every normal week several celebrities sent out thousands of Tweets about their lives but they always have to be careful with what they tell about their current television projects. Producers are afraid that they will reveal too much of the content and take away excitement of a television program. Recently the Dutch reality star Britt Dekker has been given a Twitter- suppression by RTL because she was constantly leaking where she was and what she did there, while this was going to being filmed for her new travel show that will air in April. (RTL, 2012)
But for a week the censorship on Twitter will be dissolved and stars and producers are free to tweet about everything that is happening at the scene. Besides that fans are also offered the possibility to chat with their favourite stars right after the show.
The following programs and their actors and presenters are being followed during the Tweet-week: Ik hou van Holland, GTST, TV makelaar, Help, mijn man is klusser, Koffietijd, Het zesde zintuig, Recht gezet, Mijn leven in puin, het nieuwe Knallen in de horeca, Help, ons kind is te dik, RTL Nieuws, Eigen huis & tuin, The voice Kids and Moordvrouw. (RTL, 2012)
Unfortunately for Britt Dekker she is contracted for RTL 5 and this channel is not participating in the Tweet-week. This means we probably will have to wait until April to hear how ‘Fucking Awesome’ her trip around the world has been.
